# Arkimals Hunt: How to catch Golden Eggs
Arkimals Hunt is a game where you discover GEEGs (Golden EGGs) hidden around you in augmented reality and get rewards. Choose a GEGG on the map, get to it before anyone else, open it with your phone camera, and find out what's inside it!
GEGGs may contain the following rewards:
* SPICE tokens are required to raise ducklings
* NFT ducks
* Items for use in game
You can start playing and open the first 7 GEGGs for free. To take away your rewards and continue playing, you need NFT Duck with AR glasses.

## Rules
* Golden EGGs are Eggs laid by your Duck. When you open a GEGG, you are guaranteed to get a reward.
* Purple Eggs are GEGGs laid by other users' Ducks. When you open a Purple EGG, you have a 30% chance to get a reward. With a 70% chance the reward goes to the owner of the Duck.
* Playing without a Duck, you can open up to 3 GEGGs per day, up to 7 GEGGs total. GEGGs spawn within a radius of up to 7 km around you.
* The daily and total limit on opening GEGGs are spent each time you open a GEGG — no matter Golden or Purple.
* The daily limit is renewed 24 hours after each opening of the GEGG.
* If you have reached the limit on opening GEGGs, you can still see GEGGs on the map, but cannot open them.
* Adding Ducks to the game improves your playability. The daily and total GEGG opening limits provided by the Ducks are added up.
* The total GEGG opening limit provided by a Duck equals its GEGG laying capacity. However, the total limit and the capacity are spent independently of each other. If the Duck has laid all of its GEGGs, but you have not yet reached the opening limit, you can continue opening Purple Eggs.
* If another player opens a GEGG laid by your Duck, your limit is not spent, and the prize goes to you with a 70% chance.
* A laid GEGG has up to 5 copies, each of which appears next to one of the most active players. When one of the copies is opened, all copies disappear from the map.
* The more often you play, the higher the chance of GEGGs appearing around you.
## You will need
* Phone with camera and geolocation function.
* An idle Duck to put it in hunt and AR glasses or 1 EGG to buy glasses to continue the game.
## How to start playing

🦺 **Your safety is the top priority. If a GEGG is in a hard-to-reach place, try refreshing the page; if that doesn't help, use the rope switch to find another GEGG.**

1. Go to[ Arkimals Hunt](https://wavesducks.com/hunt): open the Arkimals website on your phone, tap Play and Earn at the top of the page; then tap Play on the Duck Hunt tile.\
2. Important: allow the website to access your location.
3. Read the safety warning and take a quick site tour.
4. Log in with your Waves account. If you don't have an account yet, it only takes a couple of minutes to create one. [How to create an account](/guides/account-how-to-log-in-to-the-game.md#if-you-dont-have-an-account-yet)
5. On the map you will see some GEGGs. Tap a GEGG to find out the distance to it and time left until it disappears. Tap × to close the hint.

6. Approach the GEGG or use the rope to bring it closer.\
The rope can deliver GEGGs to your location from up to 1 km away: the shorter the distance, the cheaper it is. The EGG price for rope usage is split between EGG/vEGG and WAVES tokens, also you can pay the EGG part with vEGG tokens
Don't forget to complete the Daily and Weekly tasks for rope usage!
7. When the GEGG is less than 20 meters away, the camera button becomes available.\
8. Important: allow the website to access the camera, motion and orientation.
9. Hold the phone vertically and turn around. When the GEGG hits the lens, tap Catch.\
10. When opening a Purple GEGG, you get a reward with a 30% chance. But you can increase this chance by perks!\
Golden GEGGs with a guaranteed reward will appear on the map when you add an NFT duck with AR glasses to the game. The Duck is also required to take away your rewards.
💡 The rewards are distributed once a day, including the collected SPICE tokens, the feed limit for ducklings, and level points. The feed limit is credited at 2x of the $SPICE you catch yourself inside the GEGG. If someone opens your GEGG and you are rewarded, you will receive 1/2 of the amount of $SPICE caught. Also, you can catch extra rewards such as:

## How to add a Duck to the game
⚠️ After putting the AR glasses on your Duck you will be able to unlock the Duck from Waves Ducks Hunt only after 7 days.
1. Tap on the duckling image in the upper right corner.
2. Tap the Get a Duck button.
3. If you don't have a Duck yet, you can choose a Duck on the Marketplace tab and buy the Duck for EGG. More about auction rules
4. On the My Ducks tab, select one of your Ducks. Any Duck except those in [farming](/guides/farming-how-to-produce-eggs.md), on the [marketplace](/guides/marketplace-buying-and-selling-animals-and-items.md), or in other Metaverse games will do.
5. Tap Send to Duck Hunt for $1 EGG and sign the transaction.
💡 You can send multiple ducks to the game to improve your playability. To add the next Duck to the game, go to the main interface of Waves Ducks; on the My Farm page, open the Duck card and click Duck Hunt. Every Duck needs its own AR glasses.
If you decide to take the duck from Waves Duck Hunt, you will keep the AR glasses. You can put the glasses on another Duck later.
## How to choose a Duck
When choosing a Duck, consider how its parameters affect your playability.
* Hunt Power depends on the Duck's genotype and is calculated by this formula:\

Here N is the number of ducks with the same genes, regardless of the generation.
* The amount of SPICE token in GEGGs laid by a Duck depends on its Hunt Power, date of birth and generation. Young Ducks with a rare set of genes lay more nutritious GEGGs.
* A Duck's GEGG laying capacity is the number of GEGGs it can lay. The capacity depends on the Duck's Hunt Power, generation and breedability. Breedable Ducks of the latest generations with a rare set of genes lay more GEGGs.
* The total GEGG opening limit provided by a Duck equals its capacity.
* The radius in which a Duck lays GEGGs depends on its Hunt Power and the number of different genes in its genotype

The Ducks' rewards decrease depending on their hatch date. The newly hatched Duck is more suitable for hunting than the old one. Here's the formula for the average estimated degradation of the Duck's stats on the periods:

## How to recharge a Duck
Recharge lets you continue playing with a duck that has already used up its Golden GEGG capacity. Recharge increases the Duck's GEGG laying capacity and total GEGG opening limit.
The cost of every additional GEGG starts at 0.02 Waves Ducks EGG and goes up gradually.
💡 Recharge is available for Ducks in the hunt with the EGG or vEGG token. You can earn additional rewards by completing [daily and weekly tasks](/guides/daily-and-weekly-tasks.md) on recharge!
1. Go to the duck card in the game or in the main interface of Waves Ducks.
2. Tap ⚡ total capacity.
3. Specify a new GEGG laying capacity value: enter a number or move the slider. You can add up to 100 GEGGs per recharge, but the number of recharges is unlimited.\
4. Tap the cost button and sign the transaction.
## How to upgrade the hunt perks!
You can increase your hunt stats by upgrading your skills. High-level skills can turn upside to down your play style! For example, you should unlock more points of magnetism if you are a lazy player who doesn't like to walk for GEGGs
To unlock new levels, you need to catch a sufficient amount of GEGGs in Duck Hunt
Each further level requires more caught GEGGs and the price increases for an upgrade as the perks power
#### After leveling up, you can select one available perk to update in the skill tree:
**Hatching** - increases the number of GEGGs you can catch without ducks
**Magnetism** - bonus effect that will spawn GEGGs closer to you by gravity distortion
**Stealing** - top secret steals technology that increases your chance of stealing a reward from someone else's GEGG

### How to log in?
Аs in the web version, you can also authorize via email or SEED method. Just submit your credentials to log in, as shown in the screenshot below:
If you want to play with the SEED phrase, you need to install the Keeper Wallet app to securely store and authorize into Duck Hunt with your SEED phrase.

1. If you have a secret phrase for Waves account, you can import the account into Keeper mobile app.
2. Tap **Import wallet**. Create and confirm a password.
💡 Additionally, you can set a 4-digit PIN code to enter the app
3. Enter or paste your secret phrase. Check the generated Waves address.
## Troubleshooting
**Black background, the map is not displayed**
Check your browser settings: access to location data is most likely disabled.
**Error “Access to the camera is required”**
Refresh the page: the website will request access to the camera again.
